This innovative set of conferences with the theme: Transformation, Integration and Innovation, will take place in two different venues and in two different countries, but with one common goal!
CONFERENCE PURPOSE
The IV ICSB Mexico International Research and Education Conference on Entrepreneurship/SMEs and the VI California Entrepreneurship Educators Conference main objective, is to promote new knowledge and the exchange of innovative ideas between researchers, educators, entrepreneurs, government officials, students and SME’s business owners, on both sides of the border. Our goal is to contribute to the competitiveness and economic and social impact of SMEs, family businesses and entrepreneurs’ new ventures, both in Mexico and around the world, by addressing diverse areas such as business management education, business strategy, entrepreneurial competencies development, innovation and creative problem solving, etc. within an integrative and cooperative environment.
Topic of Interest
Small and medium-sized enterprises make up more than 90% of the total number of established companies and account for two-thirds of the world’s employment. Some of the obstacles they must face include the lack of adequate financing, difficult access to strategic resources (raw materials, capital, talent, services, energy, etc.), poor management skills, and informal competition.
Similarly, much of these companies are family owned. It is estimated that globally between 65% and 80% of all companies are family businesses, and together they represent around 50% of the world GDP. Eventually, many of these companies will have to act creatively and be re-structured in order to compete and survive.
