I am an associate professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Alabama. I create novel learning experiences that build on the philosophies of Piaget, Seymour Papert, and others to allow students to "reconstruct" moments of discovery inventors and entrepreneurs experienced when they "discovered" a new innovation or opportunity. My early tangible efforts have included the $10 Business activity for bootstrapping, connect-the-dots card game for opportunity recognition, and an in-progress game simulating entrepreneurial orientation (EO). I believe in collaborating with students on how they learn the material and I am not afraid to experiment with novel pedagogies in my classes.
