Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore

Mr. Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore obtained MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Essex, United Kingdom, in 2012, a Master of Business Administration at the Ekiti State University in 2003, a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from the National Open University of Nigeria in 2020 and a Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Nigeria, in 1996. Mr. Olaore is a Founder and Executive Director of the Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS), in Nigeria, a non-profit organization that promotes entrepreneurship education, youth employment, and community development. He is a Chief Lecturer in the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Department of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Nigeria, employed since 2001. His passion for humanitarian services, professional skills, and social impact and volunteering experiences inspired him to launch an NGO in 2020, 'Youths Enterprise Development & Innovation  Society (YEDIS),' which actively advocates for the UN SDGs in poverty reduction, quality education, gender equality, and decent work. As of March 2023, YEDIS has empowered more that 7000 underprivileged school children with entrepreneurship education, and girls and young women in agribusiness and creative industries through capacity building, business plan proposal writing, digital literacy skills, material donations, and other business support services (Website: https://yedis.org).  Mr. Rafiu Olaore has been involved in selfless humanitarian and social services since 2006 as an active member and a Melvin Jones Fellow of Lions Clubs International. He served as the President of the National Alumni Association of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Nigeria, between 2001 and 2007. Regarding administrative exposures in his paid workplace, he served in various capacities as a member of the Polytechnic's Governing Council from 2001 - 2007, Head of the Academic Department from 2008 - 2011, from 2019 - 2022, Assistant Director of Entrepreneurship Education from 2013 - 2019, Board of Studies member, and other relevant positions. To broaden his social impact knowledge, in 2022, he acquired certificates of achievement in advanced courses, including 'Gender, Youth Employment, and Social Inclusion and 'Green Technologies for African Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises' from the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN WOMEN). A Certificate in Gender Equality: How Business Can Accelerate the Pace of Change, from UN Global Compact Academy, in 2022. To enhance his IT skills, he enrolled in training and obtained a Certificate of Achievement in the 'Fundamentals of Digital Marketing from Google Digital Skills for Africa in 2021. In addition, Mr. Olaore has intercultural relationships through his study at the University of Essex, United Kingdom and regular physical participation in international programs/conferences, including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Germany. He attends a series of physical and online seminars by the United Nations and other reputable organizations to share his views, and acquire digital skills, mentorship, networking, and advanced managerial skills. As part of his quest for knowledge, networking, and sustainable development, he participated (in-person) at the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Spring Meeting and Civil Society Policy Forum held from 10th – 16th of April 2023 in Washington, DC, USA. He participated (in-person) at the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC) side event, 'A New Way of Monitoring Development Co-operation: Towards Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue and Action' UN Financing for Development (FfD) Forum, held at United Nations Headquarters, New York, USA on 19th April 2023. More so, he attended the  2nd Town Hall meeting with PGA77 and Civil Society at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, on 2oth April 2023. Considering Mr. Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore's educational qualifications, entrepreneurial and digital skills, social impact and intercultural relationships, international exposure, and managerial experiences, he is available to partner and or serve in any capacity.
