Prof. Sarath S Kodithuwakku

Sarath S. Kodithuwakku has obtained his BSc in Agriculture with specialization in agricultural economics from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 1990. He completed his Masters of Business Administration in Marketing and PhD in entrepreneurship from the University of Stirling, the United Kingdom in 1993 and 1997, respectively. He currently serves as a Senior Professor as well as the Head of the Department, Department of Agricultural Economics and Business Management, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. He founded the MBA programme offered by the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA), the University of Peradeniya in 1998. He currently serves as the Coordinator of the MBA programme and Chairman of the Board of Study in Business Administration. He was also the Director of the Agribusiness Centre, the outreach arm of the Faculty of Agriculture, since its inception in 1998 until September 2011. At the national level, he has been serving as the President of Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL), the premier professional body for Sri Lankan management professionals since 2017 and as a member of Board of Study of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the premier professional body for professional marketers in Sri Lanka.
