Ashraf Sheta
Dr. Sheta is currently working as an assistant professor for entrepreneurship and strategy at the American university. Dr. Sheta authored and coauthored more than 40 teaching cases addressing the Egyptian context. He is the winner of the second prize award of the AUC/Emerald case writing competition ,2020 He is the winner of the EFMD award for case writing in the field of family business ,2019. He is the winner of the silver award Stellar Teaching and Activities Recognition (STAR) 2018/2019 to recognize faculty who adequately demonstrate the extent and nature of alignment between their teaching and other activities with the AUC business School's vision, mission, themes and focus on Internationalization and Arab relevance. He is the winner of the adjunct faculty teaching excellence award at the AUC for the academic year 2016. He also won the certificate of performance excellence from the AUC executive education for the years 2014,2015,2016,2017. His academic, and nonacademic publications is diversified with a main concentration on entrepreneurship, and family business. He developed and delivered new courses for the first time in Egypt including: family business, Innovation and technology, Corporate entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurial management. He is a member of the case method steering committee at the global business school network GBSN.Judge in the outstanding compact case writer by the case center. Advisory board member of EPIC Evaluation of Entrepreneurship Education Programs in Higher Education Institutions and Centers. Reviewer in International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business.Reviwer in the Journal of Humanities and Applied Social Sciences For the consultancy and training dimension, Dr. Seta has worked with prominent organizations in the field of training and consultancy; GIZ, the transparency international, European union, USAID, ILO, international organization of migration, Executive Education Executive education at the AUC and Women entrepreneurship and leadership program WEL developed by Wharton school of business and financed by Goldman Sachs. On public work dimension, Dr. Sheta is former president and board member of the Middle East council for small business and entrepreneurship MAKSABY an affiliate of the international council for small business ICSB with strategic agenda of promoting and supporting entrepreneurship and small business in the MENA region. He is also member of the ICSB academy instructors in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation with an agenda to promote entrepreneurship education internationally. He was the vice president of the Egyptian junior business association EJB and was responsible for developing the Egyptian national business agenda in partnership with center for international private enterprises CIPE for three consecutive years till November 2009 tackling 14 different industries in Egypt. Possessing practical entrepreneurial experience is a crucial dimension in the career of Dr. Sheta. He was the GM of Shetatex Company for weaving since 1990 till May 2012. With more than 25 years of experience in the field of textiles. He was also a founder of the Egyptian textiles technology center, and member of the textile trade center steering committee.
