Perihan Tawfik has been working for the International Labour Organization for 25 years in different employment projects with special focus on enterprise development and entrepreneurship. Perihan is currently managing a Public Private Partnership “Decent Jobs for Egypt’s Young People: Together to Develop the Youth in Damietta”, an ILO project funded by Methanex Egypt.
She has extensive experience working with the different players of the Egypt Ecosystem. She has been also a key person for the different ILO training toolkits adaptation into Arabic, piloting and dissemination phases with a national institutionalization of these toolkits as a main objective and to support the largest number of beneficiaries throughout Egypt. Since 2008 to date, she has been one of the main organizers of the ILO Entrepreneurship related events bringing together politicians, researchers, educators, practitioners and students to discuss and share knowledge and experiences with a view to developing better policies and guidelines for the promotion of self-employment and youth entrepreneurship through entrepreneurship education. She also contributes to different business competitions as an organizer as well as a jury panel member.
She has been member of ICSB and USASBE for more than 10 years participating in conferences and experiential clinics in different States.
Perihan holds Master of Public Policy and Public Administration from the American University in Cairo- Egypt (2007) and has completed the “Implementing Public Policy Online Certificate” (2021), Harvard Kennedy School, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education, USA.
