More than 300 global leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, educators, and over 100 students gathered in the United Nations ECOSOC Chamber to celebrate the power of human-centered entrepreneurship.

There are moments when a room becomes more than four walls.

On June 26, 2026, the historic ECOSOC Chamber at United Nations Headquarters in New York became the meeting place for a global movement. More than 300 participants representing every region of the world came together for the International Forum on MSMEs Day 2026, united by a common purpose and an even greater belief that entrepreneurship remains humanity’s greatest engine for opportunity.

This year’s theme, “Human Centered Entrepreneurship in an AI-Driven Future: Economic Empowerment for the Next Generation of MSMEs,” was more than a title. It became the heartbeat of the Forum.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries and societies, one message resonated throughout the Chamber: technology may transform how we work, but people will always define why we create, innovate, and lead. The future belongs to entrepreneurs who combine innovation with empathy, technology with trust, and ambition with purpose.

Throughout the day, world leaders, ministers, ambassadors, business executives, academics, and entrepreneurs shared ideas that crossed borders and disciplines. They explored how micro, small, and medium sized enterprises continue to create jobs, strengthen communities, and build more resilient economies. Yet amid distinguished speakers and global conversations, another voice rose above the rest.

The youth.

More than 100 students and young leaders participated in the Forum, bringing a level of energy that transformed the atmosphere inside the United Nations. Among them were more than 30 students from the Republic of Korea, who traveled thousands of miles to be part of this historic gathering. Their presence was more than symbolic. It was inspirational.

They asked difficult questions.

They shared bold ideas.

They challenged assumptions.

Most importantly, they reminded everyone in the room that the next generation is not preparing to become leaders someday. They are leading today.

Their enthusiasm embodied everything Human Centered Entrepreneurship represents. In an era increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence, they demonstrated that imagination, compassion, creativity, and collaboration remain our most valuable competitive advantages.

The Forum concluded with a renewed sense of optimism and purpose.

Reflecting on the day, Dr. Ayman ElTarabishy, President and CEO of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), captured the spirit of the gathering:

“ICSB has always been about MSMEs. Today, we know we are not walking this journey alone. We have the world standing with us, united by a common belief that entrepreneurship changes lives. Together, there is no limit to what we can achieve.”

Those words reflected what everyone in the Chamber had witnessed.

A global community.

A shared mission.

A growing movement.

Broadcast live around the world through UN Web TV, the Forum reached audiences far beyond New York. Its message was unmistakable. MSMEs are not simply businesses. They are the heartbeat of communities, the foundation of resilient economies, and the bridge to a more inclusive future.

As preparations now begin for the 10th anniversary of MSMEs Day in 2027, the momentum from this year’s Forum will continue to inspire entrepreneurs, educators, governments, and institutions across every continent.

The story of MSMEs Day 2026 is not about one organization or one event.

It is about a world choosing collaboration over division, people over process, and hope over uncertainty.

The future of entrepreneurship has never looked brighter.

And it has never looked more human.
