Dr. Eng. Nabil Shalaby is an International Entrepreneurship and SMEs development guru, the founder and chairman of the Arab Entrepreneur House (ARENHO) consulting firm in Egypt. Vice President of John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank, England, Entrepreneurship International Consultant of Asharqia Chamber Incubator, Saudi Arabia, and co-founder of Delta Technopreneurs Association (DTA) in Egypt. He was the advisor to the small industries committee at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI). He was the founding director of the first SMEs development center in Saudi Arabia, and played a key role in establishing 16 similar centers in the Arab Gulf region. Over the last 30 years, he has authored 34 books and more than 40 research papers on Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Engineering, and ICT. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation selected him as the SME capacity-building advisor for the 57 OIC member states. Notably, he designed Egypt's first Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Interactive Map (EEEI) and launched the first global entrepreneurship ecosystem platform (GEEP), which currently hosts 1530 entrepreneurship support channels from 72 countries. Recognized by the International Council for Small Business, USA (ICSB), he received the international award in the "Most Innovative Idea" category for his EEEI interactive ecosystem map. He was honored by Entovation, USA, as one of the top 100 entrepreneurship and innovation world gurus. Dr. Shalaby has served as a jury member for various awards such as the Start with Google award, the Saudi SMEs award, the Arab Science and Technology Foundation Business Plan (BP) competition, the MENA100 BP award, and the Sultanate of Oman entrepreneurship governmental award. His expertise spans from practical experience as an SME development consultant at the Canadian small and medium enterprises support project (funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and implemented by Deloitte &Touché) to serving as the director of Mansoura University Technology Incubator in Egypt. He has contributed significantly as a regional expert, aiding MENA countries in establishing small business centers, and incubators, and promoting entrepreneurship on a larger scale. Dr. Shalaby has made substantial contributions to online training, by designing and introducing the largest Arab entrepreneurship course, consisting of 70 videos across four levels through Ma'aref platform at Mansoura University, Egypt. His expertise also extends to the applications of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and the Metaverse, which he incorporates into his entrepreneurship courses taught at Mansoura University's departments of Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering and for Faculty of Pharmacy students. Additionally, he has taught various subjects such as manufacturing engineering, project management, marketing, negotiation, communication, presentation & pitching, team building, and leadership skills. He regularly contributes periodic articles to entrepreneur magazines and has received numerous awards from Egypt and abroad. Dr. Shalaby holds a Ph.D. degree in engineering from Mansoura University, Egypt, specializing in technology incubation. He also holds an MSc degree covering SMEs advisory services.
