Who is the Women’s President Organization (WPO)?
The WPO is the kind of organization that women entrepreneurs often don’t realize they need. Then they join and suddenly understand what was missing in their lives, says WPO CEO Camille Burns.
“Women don’t know that they need the WPO in their life until it is in their life. You hear that a lot from members who join and only then realize the WPO is where they have a safe space to talk about what’s going on in their business and get validation that their success is well-earned.”
Camille joined the WPO as an administrative assistant nearly 25 years ago and has risen through the ranks, taking over as CEO in 2019. Over and over again, it is the positive intangible benefits of being a WPO member that the top entrepreneurs she meets at organization events single out as the most significant benefit of belonging to the WPO.

Boosting SME Competitiveness Through Digital and AI Adoption

OECD data (2023) reveal that only 33% of SMEs across member countries currently use any AI-related tools. The gap is even wider among micro-enterprises (under 10 employees), which represent the majority of businesses in Europe.
A 2024 survey by the European Investment Bank found that while 68% of SMEs recognize digitalization as crucial for their future, only 29% feel on track with implementation.

Over 10 Members of Korea’s National Assembly, including Rep. Choi Soo-jin and Rep. Kim Ki-hyun, participated in a landmark international forum on Humane Entrepreneurship held on March 31st at the National Assembly in Seoul. The event marked a significant first step in the journey to propose Humane Entrepreneurship as a global ISO standard.

Founded in 1955, the International Council for Small Business was established in the United States as the first global membership organization dedicated to advancing small business research and practice, quickly expanding to include academics, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world.
Creation of UN MSME Day (June 27) – In 2017, under ICSB’s leadership, Dr. Ayman ElTarabishy, the United Nations officially designated June 27 as Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises Day, recognizing the vital role MSMEs play in achieving sustainable development globally.
Global Expansion & World Congress Legacy – ICSB has held its World Congress in over 30 cities across six continents, making it the only organization to consistently gather a truly global network to share research, policy, and practice in entrepreneurship and small business development.
