23 February 2018, Mexico City- The Executive Director of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy, participated in the OECD Ministerial Conference “Strengthening SMEs and entrepreneurship for productivity and inclusive growth” hosted in Mexico.
Some of the topics that the Conference addressed were: enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to scale up, accessing diversified financing instruments, participating in the global economy, and how to enable SMEs to enhance their contributions to productivity and inclusive growth.
In that sense, H.E. Stuart Nash, Chair, Minister for Small Business of New Zealand, quoted ICSB’s Executive Director, Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy, on “the need for 40 millions jobs to be created every year for the next fifteen years” to keep pace with population growth and on fostering greater SME participation in a globally integrated economy.
The SME Ministerial Conference gathers Ministers and high-level representatives from 55 OECD Member and Non-Member countries, the European Union, and 12 international organizations and associations.
