|
|
|
This case is important because it provides empirical evidence that entrepreneurial transformation is possible even within mature, highly regulated industries—when guided by human-centered principles. It demonstrates that profitability and people-centered values are not opposing goals but mutually reinforcing forces. By applying the Human-Centered Entrepreneurship (HCE) framework, DGB Life Insurance proved that empathy, empowerment, and enablement can drive measurable business success. (read more)

Egypt Ecosystem Shuffle
In Egypt, while many initiatives aim to promote entrepreneurship, these efforts are often disjointed, leaving entrepreneurs and startups struggling to find the support they need.
Entrepreneurs emerge from every corner of the globe—from IT innovators in Mansoura, Egypt, to tech giants leading Silicon Valley’s transformation. While their locations, scales, and sectors may differ dramatically, one truth remains constant: the ecosystem surrounding entrepreneurs fundamentally determines their ability to survive, grow, and achieve lasting success.
For entrepreneurs to thrive consistently, their ecosystem must be robust and comprehensive, providing unwavering support to startups and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). (read more)

ICSB 70th Anniversary – From ICSB History Book
ICSB is Older Than Most Business Schools.
Founded in 1955, ICSB predates the entrepreneurship departments of Harvard, Stanford, and most major business schools. The Council began as a network of professors and policymakers seeking to promote small business research in postwar Europe and North America—decades before “entrepreneurship” became an academic discipline.
ICSB Once Helped Shape the Definition of Entrepreneurship Used by the OECD and the World Bank.
Behind the scenes, ICSB experts contributed to early frameworks that informed how major global institutions—like the OECD, ILO, and World Bank—define and measure entrepreneurship and MSME development. Its academic members served as reference points when these organizations began integrating entrepreneurship into their economic growth models in the 1990s and 2000s.
